The voice of the late Terry Jones was the arcane compass guiding legions of acolytes, making him not only a vocalist but a foundational pillar of the entire genre. Now, two long-running titans of the scene, America's ORODRUIN and the UK's IRON VOID, have joined forces to pay a powerful, heartfelt tribute to their friend and a legend who shaped their very sound. This is more than a split; it is the 'Altar of Worship,' a ceremonial offering of newly forged doom and powerful live homage, cementing the eternal legacy that Terry Jones helped build.

ORODRUIN, hailing from Rochester, NY, has been honing their monumental, traditional doom craft since 1998, with genre-defining releases like Epicurean Mass and 2019’s Ruins of Eternity. Across the Atlantic, IRON VOID has stood as a beacon of "True Doom Metal" since their own 1998 formation in West Yorkshire, UK. Originally formed by Jonathan ‘Sealey’ Seale with the explicit intent of creating an old-school Doom Metal band worshipping at the altar of legends such as Black Sabbath, Saint Vitus, Pentagram, and, critically, Pagan Altar, their sound is steeped in a heavy NWOBHM influence. Having reformed in 2008 and with the 'Altar of Worship' recording lineup featuring Jonathan ‘Sealey’ Seale (Bass & Vocals), Steve Wilson (Guitars & Vocals), and Scott Naylor (Drums), the band has consistently delivered a crushing sound over four full-length albums. This split is a continuation of their original mission: to honor the masters of the genre.
